Interior Columns

Dating back to the early civilizations, the architectural column has been used for support and beautification. The Egyptians were the first to use these structures, with the Greeks and Romans later adapting them according to their own style. Although the interior column has historically been used as a structural support, it now serves as a decorative enhancement.

In homes and offices, interior columns are being used to add a touch of regal elegance. These structures can be used to enhance an entranceway, as well as break up an oversized room. Custom columns can be made to hide a jutting corner or to wrap around an existing pole. Imagine a bathroom transformed into a Roman Jacuzzi by framing the bathroom with elegant columns. Also, a half pillar and capital can be used against a wall to produce the facade of a structural support.
Wide range of materials

Interior columns are available in a variety of materials. Some of these include wood, fiberglass, and faux stone. The popular fiberglass column has the benefit of being lightweight, yet durable. Wood, which was the earliest column material, add a look of handcrafted beauty to any room. Lastly, the faux stone pillar and capital imports the feeling of palace living. Contemporary materials ensure that these columns are termite and flame resistant. With so many materials and styles available, there is sure to be an interior column that matches your project.
